I started working with Joey a couple of years ago to rehab from elbow surgery. My only goal was to strengthen my arm because a 20-year-old knee injury kept me from doing anything aerobic. However, as a result of my work with Joey, I hiked in Patagonia last year and biked the Italian Alps this year... who knows what I will do next year!

It is my pleasure and honor to provide a strong recommendation for Joey and his amazing variety of services.

As a Division 1 college soccer player, a life long multi-sport athlete, marathon finisher and a strict exercise enthusiast, I was a bit hesitant to work with a trainer. I am a very motivated young woman and workout 5-6 times a week consistently. I have worked out with many high level trainers in college and wasn’t sure I needed someone else to teach me how to exercise. I was however in an exercise rut and needed a new challenge for my body and new excitement for my fitness routine.

I met Joey and instantly felt confident that he was knowledgeable and would not only push me to a new fitness level but that he would be challenging yet enjoyable to work with – a tough balance for a trainer!

Joey’s expertise includes: personal trainer, nutritionist and massage therapist – what more could an exercise and fitness nut ask for!?!?! I knew I had hit jackpot when I started my training sessions with Joey.

Each and every workout with Joey was varied in exercise. Joey made it very clear from the beginning that my weight was not what was important; he wanted me to feel good and confident with my body and how I felt – not what a scale read. He also stressed the importance of overall health and kept these core focuses top of mind in everything that we did.

In my opinion, Joey’s creativity is one of his top qualities as a personal trainer. Core strength was always the main focus but he challenged me in a variety of ways with a plethora of equipment. He used different weights, machines, medicine balls, floor surfaces, bands, etc. He amazed me with his ability to mix up each workout to keep it fun and challenging.

Joey’s dedication to proper form and technique was apparent in every exercise I performed. He used a variety of techniques to ensure my core and proper muscles were in check. I always felt very safe from injury knowing that Joey was aware of how an exercise should be performed and focused on my specific movements to ensure the maximum level of success was achieved. Also, Joey worked with me on several different exercises to build strength around bones and muscles that had been previously injured from years of sports. Not only was I building overall strength in my body but also I was simultaneously working on injury prevention for the future. As a former athlete, this was a huge focus and highlight of my sessions with Joey.

In addition to Joey’s top-notch personal training skills, his dedication to my overall health was truly top notch. I learned a tremendous amount about my diet. As a vegetarian, I have a fairly limited interest in foods. Joey taught me about great options and the importance of a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle.

Last and most importantly, Joey has become a friend to me. He is a brilliantly smart, contagiously happy man. He has a smile on his face every day and truly wears his heart on his sleeve. He is kind, generous and honest human being with a wonderful soul. His happiness and love for life is apparent in everything that he does. He makes the people around him smile and has had an amazing effect on my life.

I was able to see and feel great results from working out with Joey! If I hadn’t moved recently out of state, I would still be working out with him today!

Thank you Joey for everything!!! You are the best!

Joey was a Christmas present from my children the Christmas of 2008. I had started having a lot of trouble with low back pain especially when I played tennis, or spent a weekend picking up my grandson who was a year old at the time. I lived with an Advil bottle close at hand and consumed huge quantities trying to get relief.

When I opened the gift certificate, I was truly skeptical - a grandmother working with a physical fitness trainer? Like exercise was going to help? I put off scheduling an appointment, but every conversation with my children ended in "Have you called Joey yet?" Finally, in April, to shut them up, I called Joey.

That call was the beginning of one of the most rewarding experiences that I have had. Joey listened to me when I explained the problems that I was having and we set up a twice a week schedule. He began with core strengthening exercises that over time have had a tremendous effect on both my attitude and physical fitness. He varies the exercises to make each work out different, but still includes my favorites. Joey is enthusiastic and encouraging, making sure I do the exercises correctly. The sessions have become routine, a favorite part of my week, and the benefits are obvious. I don't need Advil to start and end every day without pain, and I have even taken it out of my tennis bag.

I would never have done it on my own and am grateful to my children for their innovative idea to help me. Thanks to Joey for his time, patience, and expertise I am feeling so much better. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a physical fitness trainer.
